I'll be signing books from 12:30 to 2:30, along with several other authors--including fellow fantasy writer Laura L. Zimmerman. Cupboard Makers is a spacious independent bookstore, full of wonderful new and used books, and also cats (some up for adoption!). They're located in Enola, PA, not far from Harrisburg.  Here's how to get there! Books make fantastic Christmas gifts! Hope to see you soon--and if not, have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Gretchen and the Bear Launch Party!

Image
Hello, dear reader friends! Due to the current restrictions on Pennsylvania libraries, I will be having a launch party for Gretchen and the Bear on Facebook on June 19 at 7 pm. Bad news--no cupcakes and book signing. Good n ews--you can attend from Timbuktu or Gobblers Knob or wherever you call home, and we will still have great fun! To RSVP, click here.  We will have giveaways, Q&A, a reading, and more. Lisa from Havok (flash fiction e-zine), fantasy author Kristin J. Dawson,  and author and improv queen Joanne Brokaw will be helping me host the extravaganza.  Please come and join me (and pray for no technical difficulties on my end, since I live in  a mountainy, bad internet area). Hope to "see" you soon! Keep reading! Carrie

The Countdown is On!

Hello there, reader friends! The days are creeping by but it won't be long now until June 17th, when Gretchen and the Bear hits the shelves and the shimmies into the Kindles! The Kindle version and hardback are up for preorder on Amazon now, and the paperback will soon follow (for some odd Amazonian reason). Books are also available on Barnes & Noble's site . Hurray! I am so excited about the hardcover. I want to show you what's under the dust jacket, because it's amazing! I also don't want to show you, because what a fun surprise it would be to discover it yourself! Okay, I'm going to do it. Shield your eyes if you don't want to see. That's the front and the spine of the "naked" book. I am giddy looking at it. I hope you like it, too! Here are a few nice endorsements: “Gretchen and the Bear transports the reader into a magical realm that is one part    sci-fi, one part fantasy, one part fairy tale. It's a brilliant mash-up, and I wa...

Drum roll, please! I'm pleased to finally show you the gorgeous cover of Gretchen and the Bear, designed by the talented M.S. Corley .  I just want to move right into it . However, there are many wild and dangerous Faerie folk lurking in those bushes and trees, so maybe I won't. The book comes out June 17 (yes, the release date has been moved), and as of today, you can preorder the ebook . Paperback and hardcover will be available to order soon!  Stay safe and keep reading stuff!  ~Carrie

Autumn News

Book News & Book Fest Hello, all!   Thanks for stopping by!  I've been working very hard all summer (and early fall) to finish my newest story, and the exciting news is that I'm only a chapter or two from typing THE END.  I've enjoyed writing this one very much, and look forward to sharing it with you soon. Hint: It contains elements of The Three Bears and Cinderella, and it's set in the future.    If you're a Pennsylvania person, you might want to visit me at the Wellsboro BookFest on October 13. Wellsboro (which ranks in the Best Small Towns to See Fall Foliage ) is home to the famous Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, so you could take a hike to enjoy nature's glories after doing your book shopping. By the way, if you're an Amazon Prime member, The Gold-Son is currently included in the Prime Reading Program, so you can read all about my clever but nasty Leprechauns for free. Be sure to leave a review if you do. Reviews are the...
